JAROM WAGONER

Jarom Wagoner is in the business of creating relationships and building community. He has worked in the land-use/planning field for over 20 years as a county land planner, a transportation planner, and also a city planner. From 2017 to 2020, Jarom also served in the Idaho Legislature. During that time, he was privileged to work alongside Chairman Fred Wood serving as his vice-chair on the Health & Welfare Committee where he constantly fought to make sure that children’s voices were heard.

Jarom recently finished his term as mayor for the city of Caldwell. During his time as mayor Caldwell experienced unprecedented growth; breaking records for not only new residents moving to the city, but also the number of new jobs created and new industrial construction projects. Jarom was also instrumental in the construction of several new parks and recreation areas for Caldwell’s youth to be able to enjoy the great outdoors, including the re-opening of the Caldwell municipal pool that had been closed for several years and the construction of Idaho’s largest pump track.

During his time as mayor, Jarom began the Seasons of Caldwell initiative which encourages both old and young alike to take part in different service opportunities throughout the year. The goal is to provide Caldwell residents an opportunity to give back to their community and then highlight those positive things happening in Caldwell to encourage others to do the same. In large part to this initiative, the city of Caldwell was recently honored by the JustServe Foundation in receiving the Global JustServe Award. Caldwell was one of only five cities across the world to receive this recognition.

Additionally, through his annual charity golf scramble, Jarom has raised over $300,000 for programs that benefit our youth. These programs have included the Canyon County Boys & Girls Club, The Mentoring Network, and the Caldwell Family YMCA. Jarom is excited to continue his charity golf scramble which will now help fund a new non-profit he is starting, RiseUp, which will give youth opportunities to learn leadership skills, give meaningful service to their community, and the importance of treating others with dignity and respect.

Jarom was born in Rexburg, Idaho and has lived most of his life in Caldwell. He met his wife, Lisa, while attending college at Arizona State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business. Jarom and Lisa have been married for over 25 years and are the proud parents of three boys; Brycen, Braden, and Bryler.
